Although not as famous as Hollywood's Walk of Fame, Canada's Walk of Fame on King Street inspires pride across the country. New stars will be added to the celebrated strip on Thursday, October 6 at Canada's Walk of Fame Festival. Honoring exceptional Canadians who have excelled in their fields, this star-studded event features appearances from the top talent in sports, music, film, television, science, social justice, philanthropy, and literature. The night begins with a glamorous walk along the red carpet, followed by a gala dinner and TV special that is broadcast around the country. Past inductees at the Walk of Fame Festival have included Michael Bublé, Rachel McAdams, and Ryan Reynolds. Inductees for 2016 include:
- Jeanne Baker, Fashion Entrepreneur, Journalist, and Television Personality
- Corey Hart, Musician
- Darryl Sitter, NHL Hockey Player
- Deepa Mehta, Filmmaker
- Jason Priestley, Actor and Director
- Al Waxman, Actor and Director
Tickets are available to the gala dinner and TV broadcast for $1,250 per person and up.
