Celebrating cultural excellence in fields as varied as film, television, sports, music, literature, the visual and performing arts, science, philanthropy, and social justice is at the heart of Canada’s Walk of Fame. As of this moment, there have been 157 Canadian celebrities who have been recognized for their accomplishments. It is without a doubt a top honour. And you can be a part of the next round of inductees by attending the 6th annual Canada’s Walk of Fame Festival, which begins September 25 and continues through October 1, 2015 at various venues throughout downtown Toronto. Count on having a rollicking good time courtesy of non-stop live entertainment.
On Friday, September 25, at Massey Hall, you’ll be treated to the unique sounds of Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy. They’ll be playing music from their well-received first album, “One,” as part of the Massey Hall Headliner Concert Series. Also part of the series, The Tea Party will be performing Saturday, September 26. Expect to hear their greatest hits plus all the songs from their album “The Edges of Twilight.” Monday night, September 28 at The Horseshoe Tavern, a great line-up awaits attendees. It’s a music showcase featuring the Ontario rock band Ascot Royals, the all-female The Beaches, pop stylist Ria Mae, and the hometown duo Bellwoods. And from Tuesday September 29 through Thursday, October 1 from noon to 11:00 p.m., the Free Festival will feature live music, dance lessons, book readings, workout sessions, prizes, films, and food trucks.
