That is because that is when the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair will be happening. And there will be a lot happening every day during this family-friendly winter festival. Stop by the President’s Choice Animal Theatre to see barnyard creatures galore doing their thing, from jumping rabbits to goats on the go to the Spirit of the Horse demos. Spend quality time at the aMAZEing Food Journey where you can get in-depth knowledge about how your food gets to your table from the farm. Bring your little ones to Ag-tivity Central and they’re sure to get a big kick out of the playscape and all its options for expending pent-up energy. Meanwhile, adults will be drawn to the Love of Food, home to farmers, scientists, chefs, and health professionals who will regale you with passionate stories of, well, food.
And if you’re passionate about food, you’ll want to make a beeline for the Burnbrae Farms Food and Lifestyle Stage. That’s the place to see everything from the Egg Farmers of Ontario Road to the Royal Chef Challenge to the Royal International Invitational Chef Challenge. Other highlights include the more than a dozen Education Centres, home to tons of inside info on agriculture, the incomparable square dance competitions, and the butter sculpture tributes to Canadian agriculture crafted by a bevy of Toronto art students.
